What is The Outbreak Zone?

The Outbreak Zone is my steam-punked version and adaption of The Wizard of Oz. I've seen the classic movie that we all know, and love and I've recently read the book and did my own comparison. As usual, the book was better. There were more fight scenes with the Tin-man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion, of which I really liked. I know that if they did a remake of it now, it would've been PG-13, especially with the Tin-man hacking heads off of the wolves and the Scarecrow squeezing the heads of crows. Needless to say it was a bit much for younger readers.
Now I'm getting ahead of myself. I want to tell you how this idea came to be. It started with a T-shirt...
Like all ideas they come from something. I wish I could say that it came from my 'brains' like an 'Ionian Miracle', but it didn't. I saw a T-shirt that my friend was waring the other day, and it was the Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz acting like a zombie. Now if you've seen or read the book, you know, very well, that the Scarecrow wished he had a brain. And if you've absorbed yourself in the well-known pop-culture of The Walking Dead or any type of zombie movie, you know that zombies want brains. This shirt got me thinking, that what if we could make The Wizard of Oz into a monster squad-like movie?

I later saw this shirt on Threadless:

It is the Tin-man robbing the ambulance so that he can have a heart. The T-shirt is called Heartless. Now I was trying to think of a monster that needed a heart... I couldn't think of anything scary, but then I thought to myself, there is a monster that needs blood... The Tin-man could be a vampire!

Now I know what you're thinking... So with this 'monster squad gang' is the Cowardly Lion going to be a werewolf? Not in this adaption... because that would be too predictable... instead, I would keep the Cowardly Lion the way he is, with a minor twist that would force the Lion to match with his 'Cowardly' name.

I will however, add an extra character to the gang, who will put some tension in the group as they are trying find 'the wizard.'

Dorothy won't be a monster, but more of a monster slayer. Which is ironic, I know, due to the fact that she will be working with monsters, but hear me out, each monster has a key role in helping her return home to Kansas.
